Movement education

Discover the movement within you

For children and youth , a cultural passpor t event, adapted for people with special needs

A creative motivational activity with modern dance, movement
improvisation and creative tasks. Movements sharpen
understanding and fasten reactions; therefore, during creative
movement meetings, short-term and long-term memory is
improved, new connections are made in the brain. Social skills and
communicability are also developed, and a circle of like-minded
people is widened. Together, people learn not just to dance,
create and improvise but also to communicate and cooperate,
and to express themselves through their thoughts and body
freely. The aim is to develop a creative and confident personality,
to find each person’s talents and individuality: a positive effect on
the children’s emotional health is expected

Sculptures of moments

For youth

A creative movement laboratory session during which participants
learn about discovering, creating and trying different ways and
methods for building choreography. The relationship between
the artist and the spectator is analysed, and the knowledge of
improvisation is deepened. At the same time, we experiment on
perception and analyse how a person perceives the surrounding
environment. And so a city performance is built and then
presented publicly.

Whirlpool of family dance

3-5 years and 5-7 years for children with families, adapted for those on the autism spectrum for children

In this creative movement laboratory, we invite families to get
involved in a whirlpool of dance together, and lower stress and
anxiety levels by moving to the dance rhythm. Dancing can change
a person’s mood and help make the attitudes towards oneself,
one’s abilities, family, friends and the surrounding environment
more positive. The dance is almost like a game: participants do
creative, rhythmic and movement exercises. The children learn to
understand that every move in reality is a part of dance. During
the exercises, we are “here and now”, we look for new ways of
moving, we learn to improvise our movements, we hear the music
anew and learn to create sequences of movements, which arise
from individual creativity. Together with children, having involved
the whole family, we learn to communicate and cooperate, to
express our thoughts and feelings freely and do this not just with
our tongues but also with our bodies.
The goal of this education is to develop a creative personality, to
increase confidence in ourselves, to reveal our capabilities and
individuality, and to improve cooperation.

Sensory-creative movement laboratory

Young people with hearing impairments

In the creative movement laboratory, a creative and harmonious
environment is built while the youths are involved in the process
of getting to know their bodies and themselves and helped to
find their creative potential. They learn to communicate and
cooperate, and to express their thoughts and emotions through
their bodies. With the help of modern dance, dance improvisation
and creative tasks, we look for ways to help each person unfold
their individuality. And with the help of movement, we develop
imagination and creative expression, encourage confidence both
in oneself and others. Finally, social and emotional competences,
important for good emotional health of children, are developed.

(In)Visible dances

For visually impaired people

Modern dance activities which are conducted according to
a specially prepared methodology: during the educational
movement activities, methods of modern dance, dance therapy
and improvisation are employed. Parallelly, we conduct a study
during which we aim to determine how a lack of vision or a partial
sight affect the human body, its muscle work and movement
capabilities. On the basis of the results of this study, a programme
of applied dance is made. The study analyses how the dance
genre is expressed through the bodies of people with visual
impairments and how the methods employed during the dance
can improve the social life of the participants in the society

sound speaks to the body

What is movement? sound? Where do they come from? What influences them?
During the meeting we will explore our personal sound in the body and individual movement. We will discover, we will experience their consonance in ourselves and in the community. During creative tasks and practical exercises, with the help of many instruments (drums, electric guitar, harmonica, etc.) and rhythms, we will experience together how much and what effect sound has on movement, how sound speaks to the body.
A spoken body also frees the mind…
Instruments used in the workshop:
Electric guitar, acoustic guitar, bugle, tambourine, harmonica, voice.
